The 2025 WNBA Draft will be held April 14 in New York City.
The Dallas Wings have the No. 1 pick, followed by the Seattle Storm. The Washington Mystics have the next two selections, with the expansion Golden State Valkyries owning the fifth choice.
WNBA commissioner Cathy Engelbert will announce the draft picks live on ESPN beginning at 7:30 p.m. ET.
For the second year in a row, the draft will be held with fans in attendance, this time at The Shed, a center for the arts in the Hudson Yards section of Manhattan.
“At a time when the passion and excitement surrounding the WNBA has never been higher, we continue to focus on creating elevated events that WNBA fans won’t want to miss,” Engelbert said. “The tremendous fan engagement we enjoyed at draft last year was a precursor to a season in which we ultimately set records for viewership, attendance, digital consumption and merchandise sales. Now, on the heels of an interesting free agency period and with draft serving as the official start to the upcoming WNBA season, we look forward to welcoming in a new set of WNBA rookies in a memorable way.”
Draft prospects will participate in multiple pre-draft activities in the city and conduct a walk along the “Orange Carpet,” where they can show off their fashion style on the way into the venue.
Guards Paige Bueckers of UConn and Olivia Miles of Notre Dame are projected to be the top two picks of the draft, provide they both decide to give up their final year of college eligibility.
