Women’s Top 25 roundup: Cambridge sisters fuel No. 21 Ohio St.’s comeback

Jaloni Cambridge tied her career high with 33 points, her sister Kennedy Cambridge compiled a career-best 10 steals and No. 21 Ohio State overcame a surprise halftime deficit to beat Northern Kentucky 94-62 on Thursday in Columbus, Ohio.

The Buckeyes (8-1) trailed 17-5 early on and found themselves behind by five at halftime. They flipped the tables with a 26-2 run in the third quarter, fueled by Jaloni Cambridge’s eight points and her sister’s four steals.

The Norse (3-9) outshot their Big Ten foes 44.9% to 43.4%, but they committed an incredible 37 turnovers — 13 in the third quarter alone — that the Buckeyes converted into 46 points.

Ava Watson also applied pressure for Ohio State, finishing with 13 points and seven steals. Kylee Kitts scored 11 for the Buckeyes. Northern Kentucky freshman Karina Bystry scored a team-high 21 points on 7-of-8 shooting.

No. 9 Oklahoma 103, Little Rock 48

Raegan Beers posted 26 points and 15 rebounds, her Division I-best eighth double-double of the season, to lead the Sooners to a blowout of the Trojans in Norman, Okla.

Beers also tied her career high of five assists while Aaliyah Chavez added 20 points on 9-of-11 shooting, as the Sooners (10-1) ran out to a 61-23 lead by halftime. They also got 19 points from Zya Vann and 13 from Caya Smith.

Mya Cotto and Jordan Holman scored 11 points apiece for Little Rock (3-6).

No. 19 Notre Dame 97, Morehead State 48

Hannah Hidalgo tallied 26 points, 11 rebounds, six steals and three assists to help the Fighting Irish roll past the Eagles in South Bend, Ind.

Cassandre Prosper joined Hidalgo with a double-double for Notre Dame (7-2), supplying 20 points and 13 boards, the latter a career high. Vanessa de Jesus had 16 points and five assists as Notre Dame scored 31 points off 24 Morehead turnovers and racked up 42 points in the paint.

Kate Dike scored 11 points for Morehead State (4-6).
