World Nos. 1-3 to tee off together at U.S. Open

Scottie Scheffler

Tee times for the first two rounds of the 124th U.S. Open were released Tuesday by the United States Golf Association.

World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler headlines a notable three-man grouping in the 156-player field at Pinehurst Resort’s No. 2 course. The two-time Masters champion and U.S. Open runner-up in 2022 will be paired with World No. 2 Xander Schauffele and World No. 3 Rory McIlroy. That group tees off for Round 1 at 1:14 p.m. ET on Thursday.

Another notable grouping includes 15-time major champion Tiger Woods, who is playing a tournament at Pinehurst for the first time since he finished as a runner-up in 2005. Woods will join Will Zalatoris and former U.S. Open champion Matt Fitzpatrick in a group that will start on the back nine at 7:29 a.m. ET.

Also, Brooks Koepka, World No. 25 Justin Thomas and World No. 7 Collin Morikawa will tee off at the first hole at 7:40 a.m. ET.

Reigning U.S. Open champion Wyndham Clark — who is ranked fourth in the world — is paired with World No. 12 Brian Harman and U.S. amateur champion Nick Dunlap. That group will tee off at 1:25 p.m. ET.
