Saquon Barkley rushed for 176 yards and a touchdown against his former team and Jalen Hurts was responsible for three scores, lifting the Philadelphia Eagles to a 28-3 victory over the New York Giants on Sunday in East Rutherford, N.J.

Barkley, who received a chorus of boos from the crowd at MetLife Stadium, scored on a 3-yard run in the first quarter and rolled off long runs of 55, 38 and 41 yards. He signed a $37.75 million contract with the Eagles in the offseason after spending his first six seasons with the Giants.

Hurts completed 10 of 14 passes for 114 yards and a touchdown and rushed for two scores to send Philadelphia to its second straight victory.

A.J. Brown had five catches for 89 yards and a touchdown for the Eagles (4-2), who took advantage of the absence of All-Pro left tackle Andrew Thomas (season-ending foot surgery) to sack Daniel Jones on seven occasions. Nakobe Dean and Jalen Carter each had two sacks as Philadelphia finished with eight and limited New York to just 119 total yards.

Jones completed 14 of 21 passes for 99 yards before being replaced by Drew Lock early in the fourth quarter. Lock fared no better and was sacked once as the Giants (2-5) fell to 0-4 at home this season.

Barkley rolled off a 55-yard run around left end before bulling his way in from 3 yards out to open the scoring with 8:58 remaining in the first quarter. Barkley’s momentum was initially stopped however he kept his legs churning and his teammates gave him an additional push for his fifth rushing touchdown of the season.

New York went three-and-out on its next possession and Hurts fired a 41-yard touchdown pass to Brown on a fourth-and-3 play to give the Eagles a 14-0 lead.

Greg Joseph drilled a 38-yard field goal to put the Giants on the scoreboard just before halftime.

Barkley’s long scampers of 38 and 41 yards were capped off by a pair of Hurts’ 1-yard touchdown runs in the second half.
