Northwestern quarterback TJ Green will miss the remainder of the 2019 season after undergoing foot surgery, coach Pat Fitzgerald confirmed on Thursday.
Green, a senior, was injured with 11:30 left in the third quarter of last Saturday’s loss to Stanford when he was sacked by two Stanford defenders.
Before the injury, he was 6-of-10 passing for 62 yards. Green was in relief of starter Hunter Johnson when the injury occurred.
He is the son of former NFL quarterback Trent Green. A fifth-year senior, he could seek a sixth-year hardship waiver.
Starting running back Isaiah Bowser, who left the Stanford game with a knee injury, was back at practice Thursday, Fitzgerald said.
The Wildcats next play on Sept. 14 against UNLV.
