Ohio State rejoins Top 25 at No. 6, LSU falls to No. 20

Clemson and Alabama retained the top two spots in the Associated Press Top 25 as Big Ten and Pac-12 schools rejoined the poll released on Sunday.

The top-ranked Tigers (2-0) received 55 of 62 first-place votes, with three votes going to the No. 2 Crimson Tide (1-0) and four to No. 6 Ohio State (0-0).

No. 3 Florida (1-0) moved up two spots, No. 4 Georgia (1-0) held steady and No. 5 Notre Dame (2-0) also climbed two positions.

After the Buckeyes, the rest of the top 10 features Auburn (1-0), Miami (Fla.) (3-0), Texas (2-0) and Penn State (0-0).

Also rejoining the poll were No. 14 Oregon (0-0), the only Pac-12 team in the Top 25, and two more from the Big Ten: No. 19 Wisconsin (0-0) and No. 23 Michigan (0-0).

Mike Leach and No. 16 Mississippi State (1-0) joined the poll after Saturday’s 44-34 win against LSU. The defending national champion Tigers (0-1) plummeted from No. 6 to No. 20.

The week’s biggest drop, however, belonged to No. 18 Oklahoma (1-1), which fell 15 spots after a 38-35 loss to Kansas State.

Six schools fell out of the Top 25: Marshall, Louisville, Army, Louisiana, Virginia Tech and Kentucky.
