Top seven unchanged in AP Top 25 poll

After a 23-0 week by the Top 25 against unranked opponents, there was little movement in the Associated Press Top 25 poll released Tuesday.

The top seven spots remained unchanged, with No. 1 Clemson receiving 54 of 62 first-place votes and the other eight ballots going to No. 2 Alabama. It’s the 56th consecutive week inside the top five for the Crimson Tide, breaking a record they shared with Miami (2000-03).

Georgia, Oklahoma and Ohio State round out the top five, followed by LSU and Michigan. No. 8 Notre Dame and No. 9 Texas both climbed one spot.

Oregon was the only member of last week’s Top 25 to lose, slipping from 11th to 16th after a last-second, 27-21 defeat to Auburn. The Tigers climbed from 16th to 10th.

Florida fell out of the top 10, slipping from eighth to 11th after a 24-20 win against Miami.

The Gators are followed by Texas A&M, Utah, Washington and Penn State. Wisconsin jumps two spots to No. 17, followed by UCF, Michigan State and Iowa.

No. 21 Syracuse and No. 22 Washington State each rose one place, and No. 23 Stanford rose two.

No teams dropped out of the poll. No. 24 Boise State is the only newcomer, with Nebraska and Iowa State tied at No. 25.
