Yankees OF Stanton on IL with biceps strain

The New York Yankees placed slugger Giancarlo Stanton on the 10-day injured list Monday with a left biceps strain.
The 29-year-old outfielder had two hits and walked seven times in the season-opening three-game series against the Baltimore Orioles.
The Yankees did not say how or when the injury occurred and offered no timetable for his return.
Clint Frazier was recalled from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre to take Stanton’s place on the roster.
Stanton, a four-time All-Star and the 2017 National League MVP with the Miami Marlins, batted .266 with 38 homers and 100 RBIs in 158 games in his first season with the Yankees in 2018.
Frazier, 24, was the fifth overall pick in the 2013 draft by the Cleveland Indians. He batted .265 with one RBI in 15 games with New York last season.
