Five-star forward Justin Edwards, the No. 3 prospect in the Class of 2023, committed to play for Kentucky on Monday.
Edwards was rated third overall in his class and the No. 1 small forward by the 247Sports composite rankings. Edwards, listed at 6-foot-7 and 180 pounds, chose the Wildcats over Tennessee and Auburn.
The left-handed shooter attends Imhotep Institute in Philadelphia.
“(Kentucky) is a basketball state. Everything about it is basketball,” Edwards told On3 Sports. “The fans and everything, it’s all about basketball.”
Edwards is the second five-star and the third prospect overall to join Kentucky’s 2023 recruiting class. Coach John Calipari and the Wildcats previously received commitments from five-star point guard Robert Dillingham and four-star combo guard Reed Sheppard, both of whom rank inside the top 20 in the 247Sports composite.
