Don Yee, Tom Brady’s longtime agent, told Sports Business Journal on Thursday that his client plans to see out the entirety of his 10-year contract as Fox’s lead NFL game analyst.
“Tom has had a tremendous amount of fun working with Fox this year, and he’s really excited about the future with Fox and his growth on their team,” Yee said. “And this year was the first year of a long relationship.”
Asked if that means Brady anticipates finishing the nine remaining seasons on his contract, the agent simply replied, “Yes.”
The seven-time Super Bowl champion is completing his first year as part of Fox’s No. 1 NFL broadcast team, doing color commentary alongside play-by-play voice Kevin Burkhardt.
However, in October the NFL approved Brady’s purchase of a 5 percent stake in the Las Vegas Raiders, and he is involved in the franchise’s current search for a new head coach. Along with that being a demand on his time, Brady must operate under a set of restrictions in his Fox role, which include not being allowed to attend pregame production meetings with other teams’ coaches and players or visit their facilities.
Raiders owner Mark Davis said last month that he would “not get in the way of Tom’s job” with Fox, which will reportedly pay him $375 million over 10 years.
Brady and Burkhardt will be on the call for Super Bowl LIX next month in New Orleans.
