New York Liberty star Breanna Stewart is expected to be ready for training camp following a minor procedure on her right knee.
The two-time WNBA MVP forward underwent meniscus surgery on Thursday, per multiple reports. The defending champion Liberty begin training camp on April 27.
Stewart, 30, posted a hospital photo Thursday on Instagram with the caption “might or might not retire the leg sleeve but definitely getting rid of all that tape.”
Stewart averaged 20.4 points, 8.5 rebounds, 3.5 assists, 1.7 steals and 1.3 blocks in 38 games (all starts) with the Liberty in 2024.
A three-time WNBA champion, six-time All-Star and six-time first-team All-WNBA selection, Stewart has career averages of 20.8 points and 8.7 rebounds in 261 games (all starts) with the Seattle Storm (2016-18, 2020-22) and Liberty.
