After falling in the finals in 2024 and 2025, Poland defeated Switzerland 2-1 to claim its first United Cup title on Sunday in Sydney.

Jan Zielinski and Katarzyna Kawa won the decisive mixed-doubles match 6-4, 6-3 against Jakub Paul and Belinda Bencic. Bencic opened the night with a 3-6, 6-0, 6-3 defeat of Iga Swiatek, but Hubert Hurkacz — coming back from a knee injury — leveled the match with 18 aces in a 6-3, 3-6, 6-3 win over 40-year-old Stan Wawrinka.

“Finally, we made it, third time lucky,” Swiatek said at the trophy ceremony. “I really felt it was a team effort this year. Hubi, what a comeback after so many months. You played amazing. You inspired us all with determination. I feel you improved every part of our game. Our doubles team, wow! You just beat everyone. It was amazing.”

Brisbane International

No. 1 seed Daniil Medvedev of Russia defeated Brandon Nakashima 6-2, 7-6 (1) in Australia to secure his 22nd ATP Tour title at 22 different tournaments.

The three-time Australian Open runner-up tuned up for the season’s first Grand Slam by firing 10 aces and saving three of four break points in the 95-minute match. Medvedev finished with a 24-16 edge in winners.

Nakashima broke Medvedev’s serve in the 10th game of the second set and won a love game to take a 6-5 lead, but the unseeded American dropped the first five points of the tiebreak.

Hong Kong Tennis Open

No. 2 seed Alexander Bublik of Kazakhstan collected his ninth ATP Tour title with a 7-6 (2), 6-3 victory against top-seeded Italian Lorenzo Musetti.

After winning four tournaments in 2025, Bublik got a jump start on 2026 by striking 10 aces and 34 winners in the one-hour, 39-minute triumph. He saved two of three break points and converted three of seven break chances to build momentum as he heads to Melbourne seeking his first Grand Slam win.

Musetti tallied 19 winners but won only 63% of the points (29 of 46) on his first serve. His serve was broken three times in the second set.
