FURIA and Team Spirit each recorded a sweep on Sunday to improve to 2-0 in the group stage of the $800,000 PGL Astana 2026 in Kazakhstan.
FURIA dispatched HEROIC after posting a 13-4 win on Mirage and 13-7 victory on Inferno.
Team Spirit, in turn, toppled MongolZ with a 13-11 triumph on Dust II and 19-16 win on Ancient.
In other Round 2 High Matches on Sunday, MOUZ seized a 2-1 victory over G2 Esports and 9z Team notched a 2-1 win over Team Falcons. MOUZ overcame a 16-14 setback on Dust II to seize 13-10 win on Mirage and 13-7 victory on Inferno.
Also on Sunday, Aurora, PARIVISION and Monte each enjoyed a 2-0 sweep of their respective Round 2 Low Matches. Aurora dispatched The Huns Esports (13-4 Nuke, 13-3 Dust II), PARIVISION brushed aside Fisher College (13-5 Mirage, 13-2 Ancient) and Monte moved past magic (13-11 Ancient, 13-7 Dust II). M8 secured a 2-1 win over K27 in the other match, sandwiching a 13-9 win on Nuke and a 13-10 victory on Ancient around a 13-9 setback on Overpass).
The group stage runs through Wednesday, with all matches best-of-three in a Swiss System format and the top eight teams advancing to the playoffs. The single-elimination playoffs are best-of-three matches until the best-of-five grand finale on May 17, with the winner taking home $256,000.
