Bilibili Gaming blasted Dplus 3-0 on Thursday to secure a semifinal berth at the League of Legends World Championship in Allen, Texas.
In the semis on Sunday, Bilibili Gaming will oppose the winner of the final quarterfinal, a Friday showdown between three-time defending champion T1 and Karmine Corp.
The first semifinal, scheduled for Saturday, will feature Gen.G and Invictus Gaming.
Nineteen teams began play in the $5 million event, with eight qualifying for the single-elimination playoff bracket. The knockout stage, consisting of best-of-five matches, is being played in Allen except for the grand final, which will be held at Barclays Center in New York on Nov. 14.
The championship team will receive $1 million.
On Thursday, Bilibili Gaming opened with a 33-minute win over Dplus on blue. Two Bilibili victories on red followed, in 32 minutes and 33 minutes.
China’s Peng “XUN” Lixun powered Bilibili Gaming with a 20-4-22 kill-death-assist ratio, while countryman and teammate Chen “Bin” Zebin wound up at 17-8-11. Choi “Lucid” Yong-hyeok posted a 10-15-12 K-D-A ratio for all-South Korean Dplus.
