France, Saudi Arabia, South Korea and Sweden advanced on Saturday to the semifinals of the Overwatch World Cup 2026 in Anaheim, Calif.
Three of the four quarterfinals were 3-0 sweeps: South Korea over the United States, Franco over Australia and Sweden over Germany. Saudi Arabia ousted Spain 3-1 in the single-elimination playoffs.
Saudi Arabia faces Sweden and France plays South Korea in the semifinals on Sunday. The winners advance to the first-to-four grand final, while the losing teams play in the third-place match on Sunday.
Sixteen national teams began round-robin play in four groups in Busan, South Korea. The group stage ran from Aug. 20-23, with the top two teams in each quartet advancing to the single-elimination playoffs on Saturday and Sunday.
South Korea, which finished second to France in Group D, faced the Group A champion United States and won 2-1 on Samoa, 1-0 on Route 66 and 2-1 on Neon Junction.
Saudi Arabia, the Group B champion, opened with a 2-0 win on Nepal before Spain, which was second in Group C, drew even with a 2-1 decision on Route 66. Saudi Arabia closed out with wins on Eichenwalde (4-3) and Esperanca (141.97m to 53.13m).
Sweden, second in Group A, beat Group C champion Germany 2-1 on Nepal, 1-0 on Route 66 and 1-0 on Neon Junction.
Group D champion France swept Australia, which was second in Group B, 2-0 on Samoa, 3-2 on Shambali Monastery and 2-1 on Neon Junction
