Six FC Dallas players tested positive for the coronavirus and the rest of the team is quarantined at a hotel, MLS announced Wednesday.
Four players tested positive in the past two days, joining two who were positive upon arrival in Florida, where the league is staging the MLS is Back tournament starting July 8. “Upon receipt of the positive COVID-19 test, all six players immediately participated in a clinical assessment by a healthcare provider and were moved to the isolation area of the hotel,” MLS said in a statement.
“While in isolation, the individuals are in daily communication with and receive remote care from a healthcare provider, including monitoring of symptoms and regular follow-up testing.”
According to MLS, no other teams have been in contact with FC Dallas in Florida. Including Dallas, only six teams are in Florida for training.
The league also said no MLS employees or staff tested positive as of Wednesday testing. –Field Level Media (@FieldLevelMedia)
