In a matchup of the top two teams, Geekay Esports defeated NTMR 3-2 to improve to 7-0 on Saturday as Week 6 opened in the Overwatch Champions Series 2025 — North America Stage 2.
Team Liquid and Extinction notched 3-0 sweeps of Sakura Esports and Supernova, respectively.
The tournament, played online, features eight teams. The regular-season round robin will conclude on Sunday, with six qualifying teams heading to the double-elimination regional playoffs.
The top three teams will advance to the Midseason Championship and North America Stage 3. The prize money has yet to be determined.
Geekay opened with a 2-1 win on Oasis Control, then NTMR evened it 3-2 on Circuit Royal Escort before Geekay prevailed 3-0 on King’s Row Hybrid. After NTMR pulled even on Runasapi Push (99.44m-94.75m), Geekay sealed the win 3-2 on New Junk City Flashpoint. Geekay’s Riley “cuFFa” Brown of Australia was voted Most Valuable Player.
Team Liquid got past Sakura Esports with wins on Oasis Control (2-1), Circuit Royal Escort (1-0) and King’s Row Hybrid (3-2). American/Korean player Elliot “TR33” Chu of Team Liquid won MVP honors.
Extinction bested Supernova 2-1 on Oasis Control, 119.72m-54.15m on Runasapi Push and 2-1 on Circuit Royal Escort, with American NenWhy named MVP.
