HEROIC, Shopify Rebellion and Tundra Esports each earned a pair of 2-0 sweeps in Group A on Sunday to open DreamLeague Season 25.
Sixteen teams divided into two round-robin groups of eight are competing in Group Stage 1, with each match consisting of two games. The top four squads from Group A and the top four from Group B will move on to Group Stage 2 while the rest of the teams will be eliminated.
HEROIC blanked Moodeng Warriors and 9Pandas, Shopify Rebellion got the best of Moodeng Warriors and Xtreme Gaming and Tundra Esports defeated Team Falcons and 9Pandas.
In other Group A action, BetBoom Team topped Xtreme Gaming 2-0 and played to a 1-1 draw with Team Falcons.
Once the eight teams that make it through the opening round of DreamLeague Season 25 get to Group Stage 2 on Friday, they will be put into one single round-robin group, where they will face off in best-of-three matches.
The top two teams from Group Stage 2 head to the upper bracket of the playoffs, the third- and fourth-place teams land in the lower bracket and the remaining teams get eliminated.
The playoffs begin March 1 and feature a double-elimination bracket. All matches are best-of-three aside from the grand final, which is best-of-five. The winning team gets $250,000 and a club reward of $40,000. There will also be 20,440 ESL Pro Tour points distributed to the participants.
Team Spirit was the only Group B side to come away with two wins on Sunday, downing Chimera Esports, 2-0, and PARIVISION, 2-0. Gaimin Gladiators and Yakult Brothers both finished with one victory and one tie, and Team Liquid settled for two draws.
Chimera Esports and PARIVISION were two of four Group B squads to end Sunday winless.
