The New York Mets announced Sunday that ace Jacob deGrom will rejoin the team on Tuesday.
The two-time Cy Young Award winner has been on the injured list since May 11 due to tightness in his right side and lower back. The 32-year-old right-hander is 3-2 with a 0.68 ERA in six starts this season. He has 65 strikeouts and seven walks in 40 innings.
In a rehab assignment at Class A St. Lucie on Thursday, deGrom struck out eight and walked none in three hitless innings against Palm Beach. He hit 102 mph on the radar gun.
He is expected to start when New York hosts the Colorado Rockies on Tuesday night.
