Julio Rodriguez hit a three-run homer and Bryan Woo pitched seven scoreless innings as the Seattle Mariners defeated the visiting Detroit Tigers 4-2 Wednesday night.

The Tigers saw their four-game winning streak snapped.

The benches cleared with two outs in the top of the eighth inning but no punches were thrown after the Tigers’ Gleyber Torres was hit by a pitch from reliever Gabe Speier. That came after Seattle’s Cal Raleigh was nailed in the stomach in the bottom of the previous inning. After a consultation between the umpiring crew, Speier was ejected — as was Mariners manager Dan Wilson for arguing the decision.

The traded hit batters came after Woo hit three Tigers batters earlier in the game.

Detroit’s Dillon Dingler was the next batter up after Torres and greeted Eduard Bazardo with a two-run homer to straightaway center, trimming the Mariners’ lead to 3-2.

Seattle’s Colt Emerson led off the bottom of the frame by going deep to right for the final margin.

Woo (8-8) improved to 7-0 at T-Mobile Park this season. The right-hander gave up three hits, walked one and struck out five.

Mariners closer Andres Munoz worked a 1-2-3 ninth for his 20th save of the season.

It was scoreless until the sixth. After Tyler Holton retired the first two batters in the bottom of the inning, the Tigers brought in righty Brenan Hanifee (0-1). Randy Arozarena greeted him with a double to left field and Dominic Canzone was intentionally walked. Rodriguez made Detroit pay with an opposite-field shot to right, giving the Mariners a 3-0 lead and their first runs after 14 2/3 innings without a run in the series.

The Tigers had a chance in the fourth, but Seattle kept it scoreless with some strong defensive plays. Torres led off with a single off the right field wall as Canzone fielded the ball with his bare hand and made a quick throw to second to hold Torres at first. Dingler lined a single to left but Arozarena threw Torres out at third. After Riley Greene was hit by a pitch, Colt Keith hit a drive to left, with Arozarena robbing him of a potential homer with a leaping catch at the wall.

Tigers right-hander Drew Anderson, a reliever that Detroit is trying to stretch out after dealing Tarik Skubal and Casey Mize before the MLB trade deadline, got the start and allowed three hits over 3 2/3 scoreless innings, with one walk and zero strikeouts.
