The New York Yankees are acquiring left-hander Caleb Ferguson from the Los Angeles Dodgers, multiple outlets reported Monday.
The Dodgers will receive two prospects in exchange for the 27-year-old reliever, per the reports. One of those headed to Los Angeles, according to reports, is left-hander Matt Gage, 30, who pitched 6 2/3 innings over five games in 2023 for the Houston Astros, and 13 innings over 11 games in relief for the Toronto Blue Jays, for a career record of 0-1 with an 1.83 ERA.
Ferguson was 7-4 with three saves and a 3.43 ERA in 68 appearances (seven starts) for the Dodgers in 2023. He struck out 70 batters and walked 23 in 60 1/3 innings.
He is 18-9 with five saves and a 3.43 ERA in 201 career games (14 starts) since making his debut with Los Angeles in 2018. He missed the 2021 season following Tommy John surgery.
