Santiago Moreno scored the go-ahead goal in the 84th minute, giving FC Dallas a 2-1 victory over Minnesota United on Wednesday night in Saint Paul, Minn.
A wide-open Moreno received a crossing pass from Samuel Sarver at the top of the box, dribbled in and then drilled a right-footed shot into the left corner of the net for his third goal and the game-winner.
Brazilian midfielder Kaick scored a goal for the second straight match for FC Dallas (11-6-7, 40 points). Jonathan Sirois made one save for the Toros, who are 4-1-1 in their past six games and improved to 7-4-3 in road matches.
Kelvin Yeboah scored his fourth goal in four matches for Minnesota United (7-9-8, 29 points), which saw its home winless streak extended to nine games (0-4-5). Drake Callender finished with three saves for the Loons.
Dallas, playing without MLS co-goal-scoring leader Petar Musa (upper-body injury), took a 1-0 lead in the 62nd minute. Kaick, who had fired a left-footed shot from the left side of the box over the crossbar seven minutes earlier, bounced back to score his third goal of the season.
Joaquin Valiente set up the score with his 11th assist, drawing three defenders toward him on the right side of the box and then crossing a pass to Kaick by the penalty spot. Kaick then blasted a right-footed shot into the right corner. It marked the sixth straight match and 13th in the last 14 games that the Loons allowed the first goal of the game.
Three minutes later, Ramiro nearly made it 2-0 with a right-footed shot from the middle of the box, but Minnesota defender Morris Duggan cleared the ball away at the goal line.
Minnesota tied it 1-1 in the 73rd minute on Yeboah’s 12th goal. The Loons striker put in a rebound of his own right-footed shot that had caromed off the left post back to him above the 6-yard box, where he drilled a left-footed shot into the left corner.
