Point guard Jose Alvarado has joined the New Orleans Pelicans’ lengthy injury list with a hamstring issue that is expected to sideline him for six weeks, ESPN reported Tuesday.
The Pelicans (3-8) already are missing Zion Wiliamson (hamstring), Dejounte Murray (hand), Jordan Hawkins (back), Herbert Jones (shoulder) and CJ McCollum (adductor).
Alvarado, 26, is averaging 10.7 points, 4.5 assists and 2.2 rebounds in 11 games (seven starts) in his fourth season with the Pelicans. He is shooting a career-best 40.0 percent from 3-point distance.
He has career averages of 7.7 points, 2.8 assists and 2.2 rebounds in 182 games (18 starts) since going undrafted in 2021 out of Georgia Tech.
