The Denver Broncos placed running back Tyler Badie on injured reserve Saturday because of a back injury, and he will miss at least four games.
Badie, 24, was hurt in last Sunday’s victory against the host New York Jets. He lost a fumble with 2:07 left in the opening quarter after getting drilled in the back by New York linebacker Quincy Williams. Badie was then seen lying down on the sideline, with Denver medical personnel strapping him onto a board.
He displayed movement on the sideline before heading to the locker room and was later downgraded to out for the remainder of the game.
Badie had two catches for minus-4 yards prior to his departure. He also had one carry for no gain.
A third-year pro, Badie was promoted from the team’s practice squad on Sept. 25. He has 86 yards on 11 carries in three games this season.
Also on Saturday, the Broncos (2-2) elevated inside linebacker Levelle Bailey for Sunday’s home game against the Las Vegas Raiders (2-2).
